As a young exchange student, many, many years ago I fell in love with the culture, the people and the food of Greece. One of my favorite evening treats taken in the Plaka was bougatsa. I searched far and wide for many years here in the states to no avail, until I happened upon the Med. Here, finally, I found it! The flaky philo crust, the warm filling of vanilla custard and a sprinkling of powdered sugar all made fresh and served warm right from the oven is so extraordinarly comforting and delicious. If you haven't experienced this warm, heavenly slice of Greek tradition, you are truly missing out on one of life's greatest culinary pleasures. And The Med does it the best!
